Brie Escobedo
Career Exploration Coach
Brie is the Career Exploration Coach with the Career and Innovation Center. In her role, she assists students and alumni at all phases and stages of exploration. From deciding on a major to transitioning into a new career path, Brie walks students through tips, tricks, and tools that are helpful in laying the initial foundation needed to figure out what’s best (and next!) for students! Brie is graduating May 2022 with a Master’s Degree in Communication with a specialization in Training & Development from UCCS. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Brie was raised in Aruba (yes, the Beach Boys “Kokomo” Aruba!), and worked in a variety of interpersonal roles within hospitality, training and development, and public relations. After reading the book “Designing Your Life” for a graduate class, Brie was inspired by the aha and insight gained and thought, “Where was this when I was in college!?” She then set out on a mission to fuse this kind of work onto the campus to help students stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious around figuring out the $1,000,000 question -> What’s my purpose?
On her off-time, you can find Brie watering her jungle of plants, rock climbing with her husband, skiing blues with friends, hanging with her dogs at the dog park, or art-ing around with glitter, acrylic, and 3D collaging. Her favorite part of the job is the invitation into students’ lives to explore interests and uncover talents of students/alumni.
