We recognize and appreciate the fact that professional development and career-related conversations continuously happen all around campus. Our team of supportive faculty and staff across the UCCS campus frequently connect with students on these important topics. We believe that it takes our greater campus community to best serve our students. We want to support faculty and staff with the tools and resources needs to assist students as they explore their career and professional development needs.
We have designated Career Coaches responsible for developing and presenting in-class presentations, coordinating major/school specific information sessions, introductions into our services, career assignments for your Canvas shell and anything career related. Faculty and staff are integral to developing a culture of professional development at UCCS.
This page will enable faculty and staff to direct students to resources that allow them to discover their skills and passions, research different career paths, and locate information about their professional and academic interests!
Career Class Presentations
Do you want a Career Coach to speak to your class, office, or organization? The Career and Innovation Center provides professional presentations on a variety of career-related topics, including but not limited to:
- Resume/Cover Letter Writing
- Interview Preparation
- LinkedIn and Networking
- Career Exploration- Design Your Life
- Admission to Medical/Professional School
- Choosing a Major
- Overview of Career Services at UCCS
They can range from a brief introduction in 10 minutes to 45 minutes-1 hour and in depth.
You must submit a presentation request at least 2 weeks prior to class date.
Career Assignments
Would you like to incorporate career development into your syllabus? We can provide ready-made assignments that can be incorporated into any course for any major! Our hope is to help ease faculty loads, while helping students in their professional development journeys. Assignment options include:

Recommendation Letters
It is common practice for students to request letters of recommendation from faculty to add to their professional portfolios or to submit with a graduate school application.
