Available Student Opportunities with the Career Center
The Career Center offers experiential learning opportunities for students through direct engagement with its staff to intentionally bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world application. By embedding students within the daily operations of the Career Center, these experiences allow students to actively develop and practice essential career competencies such as communication, teamwork, professionalism, leadership, and critical thinking in a supportive, hands-on environment.
The Career Center offers a graduate practicum experience designed to provide hands-on learning in a dynamic, student-centered environment. Practicum students will gain experience in career coaching, program development, and employer engagement while supporting diverse student populations in their career exploration and professional growth.

Interns work closely with Career Center staff across a variety of functional areas, which may include peer career coaching, workshop facilitation, event planning, marketing and outreach, and employer engagement. In these roles, students are not only learning about career development practices but also applying their skills in real-time by supporting their peers, assisting with programs, and contributing to strategic initiatives.
A core component of the internship program is professional development. Interns receive ongoing training, mentorship, and feedback from staff, helping them strengthen essential skills such as communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and professionalism. By the end of the program, interns are better prepared to navigate the workforce, pursue advanced opportunities, and serve as ambassadors for career development within their communities.
Previous interns came from various disciplines, including Psychology and Human Services.
