Veteran and Service Member Students
If you have served our country in a branch of the armed services, thank you for your dedication to our country!
At the UCCS Career and Innovation Center, we aim to support the career development needs of our military and veteran students and their families, through direct service and engagement with events, programs, resources and career coaches; and through referrals and facilitated connections and resources in the local and national community designed to support military veterans in navigating their post-service employment path.
We know that the transition from military to civilian life is unique and varied, and can be full of uncertainty and reflection, and sometimes marked by a difficult or disheartening lack of understanding on the part of civilian employers as to how a military background can translate readily into many workplace environments. We stand with you, ready to support you in translating skills, leveraging your combined service and education expertise, and your ultimate pursuit and securing of a satisfying ‘next step’ after your time at UCCS.
We work closely with the Veteran and Military Affairs office and encourage you to connect with them for individualized support.
