The VCSA Division Finance and Accounting Team is looking for a student who will help support the division of Student Affairs financial, HR, and administrative activities. The Student Finance Assistant is expected to be able to complete duties with the support of side-by-side training and direction for tasks.

What will a successful candidate do in this job?
· Using a CU-Data query to pull Budget to Actual report data for monthly and ad-hoc reports, and then formatting, sorting, and disbursing.
· Completing JEs, BJEs, and Cash Transfers.
· Verifying and processing deposits.
· Completing cash ups for departments using a uniform template.
· Processing invoices for departments.
· Entering Suppliers into CU Marketplace.
· Responding to PSC comments / requests for additional information in CU Marketplace.
· Assisting with ad hoc projects and reports using basic skills in Excel and Word.
· Work in direct collaboration with the Finance and Accounting Senior Professional to accomplish projects requiring data analysis, presentation creation, paperwork processing, and other ad-hoc assignments.
· Receiving Excel raw data output and formatting to create aesthetically pleasing reports.
· Performing independent research to fill in the gaps on an assigned task when provided with incomplete information.
· Performing ad-hoc tasks with general parameters, e.g.:
o Pre-populating quarterly reports with cash transfer information prior to department meetings.
o Reviewing linked reports to identify “broken” reports and cause.
· Communicating professionally with a variety of departments across campus.
· Organizing and maintaining folders within the department network drive and SharePoint.
· Assisting the VCSA Admin staff by answering phones, making copies, scanning documents, proofreading, transcribing, running campus errands, and other support tasks as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic skills with Microsoft Office (primarily Excel and Outlook)
- Professional presentation
- Must have at least two years remaining until anticipatedgraduation date
- Ability to work collaboratively with campus staff at alllevels
- Must pass criminal background check
- Eager to learn
- Sense of humor
