Personal care assistants are needed for a vibrant adult with cerebral palsy. He needs supportive care to assist him in activities of daily living.
Current and past caregivers have had a variety of backgrounds and levels of prior experience. We provide all necessary paid medical and support training, supervised by a medical lead to ensure consistency and that you feel confident before working independently.
Students in nursing and medical fields who have worked here received experience beyond all of their peers, as the job trains caregivers to provide advanced procedures such as tracheostomy care, feeding tube usage, breathing treatments, and more.
This job is also very appealing to socially conscious students in education, social services, the arts, and more. The client is a brilliant man who communicates by blinking. He is passionate about politics, animals, science, and co-teaches classes at UCCS on assisting individuals with significant support needs. He has a wonderful and wicked sense of humor and jokes around often! He shows you around the community, takes you out for food & drinks, concerts and events, goes on walks, watches movies, and shares books with you!
We have immediate availability for afternoon shifts (2:00 – 8:00 pm) and evening shifts (8:00 pm – 8:00 am). The overnight shifts are on-call in the home with comfortable sleeping accommodations provided. This is a year round job. We are accustomed to working with students and work to schedule around your class availability.
