- Ensuresthe safety of guests and program participants by enforcing facility, aquaticsprogram and pool policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Performs a variety of regular and routine poolsideand water safety duties to ensure the safe use of pool facilities.
- Providehigh level of customer service to students, faculty/staff, internal andexternal UCCS constituents by responding to guests in a timely and cordialmanner.
- Recognizeand respond effectively to emergencies through knowledge and application of lifeguardsurveillance and rescue techniques including water rescues, administering firstaid, CPR, and other medical attention, as necessary.
- Maintainconstant alertness and awareness of patron activities, both pool side and inlocker rooms, to minimize exposure or threat of incident or accident.
- Conductfacility, equipment, and pool inspections, complete pool chemical logs, waterquality checks, and report unsafe conditions to supervisory staffimmediately.
- Attendand participate in continued education workshops and sessions
- Attendmandatory in-services each semester including skill checks and in-servicetrainings.
- Mustcheck emails, employee group texts and communicate schedule changes.
- Maintainfrequent communications with staff and supervisor.
- Assistwith Campus Recreation and Aquatics program special events and rentals.·
- Performsscheduled service and maintenance of facility; cleans decks, walls, windows,pool equipment, locker rooms, and other assigned areas.
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
•American Red Cross certified Lifeguard with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid
•Lifeguard must commit to guarding 2+ shifts per week
Preferred Qualifications
•Previous paid experience as lifeguard highly preferred
