Accountability:
The Farm Student Manager reports to the Farm Manager.
Scope of Responsibility:
Farm Student Managers are responsible for various tasks on the UCCS Farm. This position is mostly outdoor work. Farm Student Managers assist with student schedules, creating task lists, training and supervision of volunteers, leadership, and coordination of UCCS Farm events, and UCCS Farm community outreach.
Hours include days, evenings, and weekends. Bees are kept on the farm, those with allergies must be responsible for their own safety and provide their own epi pens. Hours will vary greatly depending on the season.

§ Equipment maintenance

§ Scheduling students
§ Coordination of events
§ Creation of task lists
§ Supervision and training of students and volunteers
§ Occasional support/work in other areas of DHS may be required. On these occasions you will be given tasks to support the needs of DHS; all hours spent on support projects are considered part of your regular work duties for this position.

Qualifications:
§ Farm experience is preferred but not required.
§ High level of attention to detail and accuracy in work
§ Must show adaptability.
§ Possesses problem solving or critical thinking abilities.
§ Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
All applicants must pass a criminal background check. Applicants must be enrolled as a part-time student (at least 6 credit hours) and have at least two semesters remaining at UCCS. Applicants must also demonstrate leadership abilities, good interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and developed listening skills.
