Role and Responsibilities
Support for a blockchain development project.
Individuals should have the ability to contribute 40 hours per week, during the summer, while maintaining their own schedule. The project is for the design, documentation, and development of systems that use blockchain, and perform analytics on blockchain data. The candidate will work independently on tasks but with a team of five or more people for design and project coordination. Remote work requires a self-motivated individual to perform tasks assigned with little guidance while productively contributing to the assigned tasks. Must attend project progress meetings and checkpoints at a minimum of twice weekly but may be more often depending on project needs.
· Interest in learning (familiarity is a plus) with some or all the following programming languages Golang, C#, C, C++, ASP.Net, JavaScript/React, SQL, Solidity, Ergo, or Python
· Interest in learning about and developing Smart Contracts.
· Interest with Blockchain platforms in concept, development on one previously a plus.
· Interest in the development of REST APIs, Web Services, JSON. Any previous development experience is a plus but not necessary.
· Interest in or knowledge of SSL/TLS, Certificate Hierarchy, X.509 Certificate creation, and CAs; Experience using Certificates is a plus.
· Interest in or knowledge of cryptographic operations for Hash, Symmetric Encryption, Asymmetric Encryption; Experience Implementing cryptographic operations is a plus.
· Understanding of, or interest in, Business and Policy for the application of Cybersecurity and Privacy
Additional Notes
This project is working on a social marketplace that will be adopted statewide in the State of Colorado when complete. The results of this effort are to impact a social change to make online transactions and enable trust on the internet. Students or community members looking to positively impact the future virtual world are desirable for this work and are urged to apply regardless of their skillset. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Interest in Blockchain, Trust architecture, and Cybersecurity Applications
Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Security+, CISSP, CISA, or equivalent a plus but not required.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of programming logic in an Object-Oriented environment
Knowledge of VS Code, Visual Studio, Git
Mid or higher-level understanding of Cybersecurity operation is a plus.
Good at independently working and completing tasks.
Good at contributing to team design efforts.
Good written and verbal skills
