Faculty & Staff

Resources

We recognize and appreciate the fact that professional development and career-related conversations continuously happen all around campus. Our team of supportive faculty and staff across the UCCS campus frequently connect with students on these important topics. We believe that it takes our greater campus community to best serve our students.  We want to support faculty and staff with the tools and resources needs to assist students as they explore their career and professional development needs.

We have designated Career Coaches responsible for developing and presenting in-class presentations, coordinating major/school specific information sessions, introductions into our services, career assignments for your Canvas shell and anything career related. Faculty and staff are integral to developing a culture of professional development at UCCS.

This page will enable faculty and staff to direct students to resources that allow them to discover their skills and passions, research different career paths, and locate information about their professional and academic interests!

Mock Interview Assignment Request

If you would like to incorporate a Mock Interview Assignment in your course content please fill out this form. By filling out this form you help us to ensure that time is blocked off to meet with your students in a timely manner and that they are able to complete the assignment.

Our Career Coaches will ask the students general interview questions and provide them with a feedback form to turn in. Please note that we no longer have the software available to record these appointments, so we encourage you to plan accordingly when preparing your assignments.

Based on the size of your classroom we will contact you after the forms submission to inquire about scheduling potential dates when students can come in for the assignment. This is so that our coaches can block off time during that week to dedicate it to your students for mock interviews.

Please note that the Career Center is only open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
We thank you for including us in your course curriculum and look forward to bringing careers to your classroom!

If you would like to incorporate a Resume Review Assignment in your course content please fill out this form. By filling out this form you help us to ensure that time is blocked off to meet with your students in a timely manner and that they are able to complete the assignment.

We ask that students bring a copy of their current resume for our career coaches to review. We will keep a comprehensive list of all students we meet with for this class assignment and send that list to you after the assignment's due date.

Based on the size of your classroom we will contact you after the forms submission to inquire about scheduling potential dates when students can come in for the assignment. This is so that our coaches can block off time during that week to dedicate it to your students for mock resume reviews.

Please note that the Career Center is only open from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

Please share this UCCS Resume and Cover Letter Guide (https://tinyurl.com/5b96b43p) with your students so that they can craft a resume prior to the assignment and appointment.

We thank you for including us in your course curriculum and look forward to bringing careers to your classroom!
