Career and Industry Outreach Program Director-Engineering

Sue is a career professional embedded in the College of Engineering and Applied Science and focused on helping the College’s students who are entering deep technical fields and industries. She works with bachelor’s, master’s and PhD students, plus international students and online-only degree students.

Services for College of Engineering and Applied Science and Engineering Intent students:

  • Technical resumes
  • Technical interviews
  • Internship, fellowship, research, job opportunities information and searches
  • Maximizing internship/job search planning and execution
  • Weekly e-blast newsletter with “right now” and hyperlinked opportunities, events, and more
  • Assistance for all engineering, computer science, data science/analytics, cybersecurity degrees
  • Support for all graduate certificate students in the college
  • Veteran support – Veteran Educators Training and Support (V.E.T.S.) program trained by UCCS Veteran and Military Affairs
  • Individual appointments on Starfish or by appointment

Sue specializes in helping students achieve their internship, job, research, or career exploration goals and has deep knowledge of technical resumes, technical interviews, and searches for opportunities within the areas of: federal government and agencies, Department of Defense employers, cybersecurity, engineering, data science, research, aerospace, engineering, IT, computing, military, national labs, and more.

Sue also hosts industry resume reviews, hiring events, and industry speakers, hosts the Engineering, Computer Science, and Cybersecurity Career Fairs, puts on Engineering Week activities with industry representatives, runs a speaker’s bureau, and has a career-focused cybersecurity grant focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion.

She holds two degrees from UCCS, BS in Business – emphasis in Information Systems and an MBA, emphasis in marketing.
